i have new slippers!!! woohooo!!! now im ready for rag n future kendo trainings with my own pair of comfy, cheap, black slippers!!! no more heart pain, no more fighting for the only pair of black, sports slippers at home. haha~ i love my new slippers. hehe~
last night, had a training session in which my dear friends ditched me again. sigh. i thought i was going to be the only junior, until i saw.... pan yu!!! haha~ i was so happy i hugged her, making zhenfeng and jesse wide-eyed. haha~ and bihan and justin also came. yah! jianping sempai, derrick sempai, effendy sempai also turned up. so it was a pretty good training, did lots of breadth control exercises for 1 hour! omg... but i stayed on throughout the training, pushing myself. haha~ even when the migraines got worse, i stayed on. and then, a break! yay! took panadol, then it was jikeiko session.
When we first started with the breathing exercises, i was partnered with shermaine. got yelled at, but for a valid reason. after getting yelled at by her, then i realised when i do sayu(sp) men for kirikaeshi, i'm actually aiming the shinai rather than the men, hence, my cuts are too high. so yah. funnily enough, after getting yelled at by her, then did the other sempais started correcting my mistake as well. haha~ better late than never!
next, jikeiko session, i got derrick. now i understand why mun wei idolize him. derrick sempai was really patient, and he taught me so many things in one jikeiko session. in fact, this is the session where i learnt the most so far. and he did it step-by-step, so that when he sees that i more or less understands one part, he moves on to the second part, and so on. and so, for the entire 1/2hr jikeiko session, i just sparred with him, and these are the 3 main points i learnt: (1)Breathe control. basically, to control own breathing(ie, not to inhale too much, keep exhaling), and to observe the opponent's breathing. when the opponent is at the lowest point of exhaling, his/her chin will drop, and that is the point you attack. (2) Posture. observe opponent's posture. just before the opponent attacks, there will be subtle changes in his/her posture, ie, he/she will tense up. once you notice this, attack/prepare to defend/perform waza. (3) erm i cant remb 3 now, brain dead. *thinks* i think it's to maintain zanshin(sp) after a cut, run through, turn quickly, kamae, ready to cut. or after opponent performs a cut, chase quickly with intention. as effendy sempai mentioned at the end of training, cut with intention. yup, basically those are the 3 main points. and the reason why he spent the entire jikeiko teaching me was because he wanted to impart all his knowledge and what he had learnt from kendo all these years to us(juniors), as he is going to graduate soon. Thanks, derrick sempai!!!!
also, i have to thank estee once more for correcting my way of tying men, going into detail about my kamae and suburi cuts. thanks once more! i will try my best to correct those mistakes. as it is, my right elbow is hurting, now. sigh.
that's all for now. see you!
sent kathy off last night. another one going to melbourne for studies. sigh. makes me wanna up and go too! haha~ this dream, will it ever come true? hmmm....
anyway, so met lay ping at lot 1 at 5.30pm. jun hong came to pick us up with steven and drove to the airport. met zhiyuan at the airport. omg, he slimmed down so much, i almost couldnt recognize him!!!!! *heart attacked* heh~ so anw, kathy was having dinner w her parents at that time, so we went for dinner at burger king. then went to take sky train to terminal 2 to find kathy, only to find out that she was going back to terminal 1. -_-" n so we went back to t1 on the next train. haha~ took a group pic, chat a bit, n kathy had to go in le. went up to the viewing gallery to see her plane take off. reminds me of the time when we were sending off cornelius. at tt time, the whole grp of us were running ard frm one end of the gallery to the other looking for his plane, and then when his plane started to make it's rounds on the runway, we were chasing the path of the plane so tt we could watch it take off. looked pretty wierd and funny back then, there were even ppl cheering us on, for what reason, i also dont know. haha~ anw, this time ard, we didnt chase after her plane cos well, basically, lots of quantas planes were leaving ard the same time, so we wont know which one is hers. so after her plane moved away from her gate n out of our sight, we went off.
went to mount faber, dont ask me why, 'twas jun hong's brilliant idea. haha~ nth much to see there though, juz walked ard n feel the breeze. then drove back to bukit timah, zhiyuan parked his car at my house and we piled into junhong's car to go to chun ting to eat. decided to play pool first, played till 12.30am, then went to al-azhar for supper. after that, went home, 'twas 1plus, close to 2am le. heh~
overheard this funny conversation at mount faber (well, there's this really posh restaurant there and i guess it must have cost a bomb):
guy: so how was dinner?
girl: hmmm... i don't know. i'm still hungry.
dum dum dum! poor fella man. seriously, how would you feel if after treating your lady love to a fanciful and expensive dinner, and she tells you she's still hungry???? now, if only a prince charming would treat me to such a dinner. haha~ and we all know that he doesn't exist, neh?
hope tt kathy had a pleasant flight, and all the best to her!!!
photos!

oh yah, kendokas!!! t-shirt suggestions pls! n maybe a kendo outing coming!
celebrated yati's birthday on sunday at east coast park. the dear girl n fellow pink freak is 21 years old!!! HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY BABE!!!! been a year since i last saw her and qammie n diyana, miss them soooooo much! n my dearest nadiah! whom i havent seen in months! ahah~ it was alright, me qammie diyana mainly in-charge of bbq-ing food(so what's new? haha! i can become the bbq expert le)n we decorated the place, of which 99% of balloons burst-ed, leaving one miserable one behind. haha~
so we bbq-ed, got sick of it, went to play in the sea, made a nice star out of sand w nad, took pictures, went cycling, it was too short! 1 hour is too short!!! I WANT TO GO CYCLING FOR 1 WHOLE DAY!!!! hahaha~
had kendo today, looong time no kendo due to flu bug(men flu bug), so went back to training today. heh~ was sniffing the entire time, on the verge of sneezing. felt rejuvenated, refreshed, tired but w adrenaline-pumping, wasnt so bad. heh~ n i din fall out. wahahaha~
westside story, the musical, anyone??????
I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST!!!! I PASSED I PASSED I PASSED!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *gg to conquer sg roads* *evil laughter* haha~ ok, i was lucky. im sick, having cough n headache, n i passed! despite being sleepy. haha~ eh, i was so off tt i stoned on the bus on the way there n missed my stop. -_-" it was alright, made a couple of mistakes like driving in inappropriate gear n erm travelling too slow(honestly, i didnt know it was changed to 60km/h. used to b 50km/h. but anw, the tester still passed me. he said sth like," ok lah, let u pass. 3rd time le. anw, at bb road(e 70km/h one), u were quite fast." so i got 12 pts. n i passed. yay!!! he was quite amused when i started thanking him profusely with a huge grin on my face. i must have looked like an idiot, esp since ard me, were other testers debriefing their testees. i thought i might have failed, i really did. there were like so many road obstructions, n at one pt, this truck was parked at the side, n i signaled to bypass, n this stupid car behind an 'L'-plate car on the other side wanted to overtake, so ended up when i bypassed, tt car was damn near me. thought i might have failed, or sth. but i passed. yay!!!!!!
my headache is back. after i took the test. thank goodness. heh! im gg to shower n zzzz. chaoz!
watched i not stupid too(two) with yalan, tingren n wenhui. HUI HUI, HAPPY BELATED BD!!! it's a nice show, i had tears in my eyes during the show, n i guess growing up and being a part of singapore's society, the movie is all the more meaningful as it reaches out to us, and we can understand it better. the difficulties, sadness, frustrations and disappointments faced by the kids and the adults is so much a part of singapore society. and it's heartening to know that there are a number of great singaporean actors!!! if their acting weren't so good, i wouldn't have been tearing in the cinema. pity then, that these credible actors are not recognised in the international arena. heh~ but yeah, it was a real nice and touching movie. go watch! :)
3rd driving test coming wed... i hope i pass this time round. have no money le.....
cold war. while in m'sia, celebrating chinese new yr. my parents. sigh... all over the issue of going back to ipoh. mum wants to go back for a night, dad doesnt want. dad wants it to b a day trip, cos he wants to come back to penang. his reason? cos the kids dont like going back to ipoh. excuse me sir, but i for one never said i dont like to go back to ipoh. i like to go back to ipoh and penang, and while we go back to penang often, i feel closer to my ipoh cousins than my penang ones, and i definitely would like to spend more time getting to know my ipoh cousins better. it's quite frustrating only seeing them for 2 days and a night, just when you get down to talking, and catching up, and getting to know one another better, u have to go off again. unfair? yes. alas, dad doesnt think so. selfish? i'd hate to say it, but i think he is. the best answer i ever heard my brother give regarding this issue is,"I dont like going back to ipoh, but they are still my relatives!" indeed. since we come back every year to see our relatives in penang, is it too much to ask dad to give up some time and go back to ipoh so that mum and us can spend time with our relatives there as well? and he doesnt want to compromise. if it were a day trip, i feel that yes, we should leave early, and leave after dinner. but, my dad feels that going back just for lunch is enough. what kind of freaking logic is that?!!! if we leave at say 9am in the morning(since dad also wants to have breakfast in penang), or most likely, 10am, we will reach ipoh at ard 11.30am. go for lunch, 12pm. his plan is to leave at 5pm. 12 to 5pm, that's just 5 hours! what can you do in 5 freaking hours???? sometimes, ppl just dont use their freaking brains. humans are selfish. i pray that i will not end up being such a selfish individual. now, my parents are having a cold war. we were supposed to go back today, but didnt, cos dad didnt want to. dad says friday, but we cant overnight, and we cant stay for dinner. so now mum doesnt want to go back, cos what's the fucking point in only going back for 5 hours???!!! give me, i also dont want! then have to rush back to pack n all so that we will be ready to leave penang for singapore on sat. jeez... n my penang relatives aren't exactly blind so..... they know abt it. a few of us girls/women were talking abt it, and they were asking me to help solve the problem. me? my dad's a freaking mcp, he doesnt listen to me! he doesnt even listen to my brother. we both got yelled at by him, and were short of getting slapped, i bet. honestly, i dont care if he slaps me, but it'll only result in a worsened cold war. there has got to be another way! im worried for my mum. she didnt even have lunch today, and she just withdrew herself from everyone. she doesnt even talk to me or my brother! just short answers. sigh... this is sickening. n worrisome. isnt cny supposed to be for reunions? some kind of a reunion this is.
love is just bullshit. life is just better off without it. a significant other? cut the crap and just leave me fucking alone. i'd rather spend my time and money adopting a child and spending time with him/her. it's much more worth it this way.
went to watch movie today w my cousins. we watched my kungfu sweetheart at gurney plaza. it was a stupid funny show. really. the storyline... what storyline?!!!!....anw, ya the storyline sucked, but it was good for laughs. n corny moments. basically, just dont expect much frm this movie. juz loads of laughs. n certain cringe-worthy moments. tt's all.
then went to lorong selemat for my fav penang laksa with zhi, lee na n her bf. alas! we were a tad too late, cos when we reached, the laksa was sold out. n so i had penang hokkien mee for lunch/dinner. the other 3 had char kway teow frm diff stalls. zhi n leena bought theirs frm the not popular, but significantly cheaper, stall, while her bf preferred queuing at the popular stall. end up, i finish my mee le, the other 2 started on their kway teow then her bf came with his kway teow. n lee na's n zhi's were nicer than the one her bf ate. n her bf payed 8.50rm for his whilst both zhi's n lee na's combined cost 8.50rm. n zhi's had extra portion too. ahaha~ they also ran out of amblah(:*(), a drink avail only in penang, so we had lemon n sour plum. had popiah too!!! i LOVE penang food!!! i m so gg to have to jian fei le....
then had mahjong session, no one else at home so i learnt mahjong lor. haha~ since they wanna swim on dry land. then finally, the rest got home, n we all went out again to go to Kek Lok Si temple. really beautiful man!!! from far, can see the lights and all!!! didnt look like a temple, look like some grand place built someway up a mountain! pity i didnt have a camera with me, so no pics. :( but it was really grand! nvr see a temple so grand b4! the paintings, carvings, statues..... it was just beautiful! ppl, if u go to penang, visit the temple. worth going. but be warned----- TRAFFIC JAMS N HUMAN JAMS await! haha~ you've been warned.
after that, supper!!! went to the stall at the roadside corner, specially selling penang laksa!!! yippeee!!!!!!!!!!! finally! my penang laksa!!! MUAHAHAHA!!!!! okies... ya anw, so i had my penang laksa, not as good as lorong selemat's but still wonderful anw. the soup was just.... heavenly! really! the key to good, wonderful penang laksa is in the soup n the fish. loads of nice fish!!! n great soup!!!! the one i ate failed in comparison to the one at lorong selemat in that there want a lot of fish. but the soup made up for it. yeah!!!!
now im home, half-aslp. gg to ipoh tmr to visit mum's relatives. IPOH HOR FUN, here i come!!!! *bashful grin*
