leaving in about 11 hours... oh dears. folks, do start updating yourself about my boring life in uk from
here.my brain ain't working due to major packing. erms, so that's all for now! c ya!
met up with Nisa yesterday afternoon for lunch. bumped into her on the bus the day before, and we decided to meet for lunch! met at westmall, had KFC. i haven't had kfc for a loooooong time, so yah. haha. great catching up with her, chit-chatting and all. i miss nisa! she's such a sweet girl. she's my rock in JC, she and nadiah. nisa will be the one to keep me sane in class and in council, the one to confide and chiong through schoolwork and council projects together. nadiah gives me encouragement and support, and is always there whenever i need her. i miss them both.... i havent had the chance to meet nadiah yet. :( i don't have many close friends in JC, and the two of them are the people who really stayed with me and cared for me the most. tough times, JC.
after lunch, headed over to plaza sing to meet sarah, who was late, as usual. watched gridiron gang. nice show, one of those inspirational ones about bad guys turned good guys. haha. well, the juveniles in the movie reminds me of my students. tough on the outside, softies on the inside. and as usual, the world needs to stop criticizing and judging these people. sometimes i wonder if i'm studying the wrong major. when i watch these kind of films, when i see these teenagers, i feel a need to help them, to be there for them, to do something for them. i don't know what i can do as a journalist for them, and i feel sad. i'm given the chance to take up teaching, to help through teaching, but i don't really want to teach. i don't think i can be of a teacher-student relation to these students. anyway, i digress. so yes, the movie was good, it was rather enjoyable despite starring the rock. however, i don't buy into the lil bow wow as a gangster thing. he just doesn't look like one, no matter how hard he acts like one. the looks you know. and the fact he burst out into the entertainment scene at a young age.
after the movie, we went to bugis to meet yk, jeremy, ys, mw and zf for steamboat dinner. got lost trying to find the place with jer; the people who were late ended up reaching the restaurant first. and then us lost sheeps realized that we were initially mere meters away from the restaurant! how sucky is that? haha.
dinner was alright. the food was okay, the soup was okay, the mala.... well, disappointing. too oily, and no kick. i still like the suntec one, despite the high price. the company was good though! haha. many laughters and er scandals and embarrassment going around. hehe.
sarah and jeremy are in perth now! *waves*

today, went for dim sum at imperial treasure with my family. yummies! dim sum is yum! and the place beats crystal palace! seriously. ate till i was really full.
later at night, met with shuying, xinyi and vicky at holland v's coffee club for some dessert and chit-chat session. bumped into ju yeoun, who is working there. i had apple crumble, 'twas good! hehe. great meeting up with them again! and catching up. going to have a pri sch bbq gathering when i return!
and so, that marks the end of today and yesterday!
yesterday, we celebrated melissa's 21st birthday at fish and co, glasshouse. almost the entire ramen og was there. well, the lot of us that are closer to one another anyway, haha. it was great seeing all of them again, especially since i haven't seen some of them for a very long time.
we had free dinner at fish and co. thanks mel and family for paying for everything! must have caused a bomb! poor mel was saboed by alby to go onstage and sing. she has a rather nice voice though! hehe. and then, alby was saboed by oliver, supported by all of us, to go up and sing. alby's voice is really good! he has a band and plays the keyboard in it. and alby did the closing song. whoot!
the cake was yummy! from four leaves. and it was humongous! haha. mel's parents gave her a huge snoopy as a present. so kawaii! hehe. all of us (girls) wanted to hug it. haha.
there were many people celebrating their birthdays as well. there was this other guy who was celebrating his 21st bd too. his friends dared him to sing a birthday song to mel. haha. the poor dude. mel told me that he is shorter than her, and mel isn't that tall. :p. hehe. mel also said that his friend was so much cuter! ahh... too bad i was too far to see his friends. haa. anyway, we agreed that the guy and his friends do not look 21. they look 18! omg!
poor bella was bullied by us, when kathy decided to start treating her like a mannequin and sticking the price tag on her. jaslyn, who was having oodles of fun suaning me at the start of dinner, suffered when i sought my revenge. hehe.
we chatted till about 11.20pm. mel's parents gave me a lift home! thanks mel!
and so, the pictures shall do the talking from here! :D

went to school on monday to find the el prof for module-mapping. i couldn't find him. crashed sarah's history of film lecture and watched a silent film. it was baaaaaad. it was painful. it was so painfully bad that we had to laugh at it.
seriously. omg. metaphorical lines should just remain metaphorical. imagine our horror when the metaphorical lines were taken literally in the film. and the facial expressions. ARGGGGGH!
kbox session with my kendokas was oodles of fun today! like mw aptly commented, when we go kbox, it is to de-stress. haha. sang a few of our must-sing and creating a complete ruckus inside the room. the people outside must be wondering what the hell was going on. let's hope they won't ban us from visiting kbox.
while waiting for siew to arrive, we warmed-up our throats (and gradually moved from sane to insane) with a few songs, mostly chinese ones. siwei was on a cantonese song singing spree. me and sarah stuck to the good old english songs as usual, except for the few times we dared to venture into chinese territory. wh was being his same old sporty self, who was even funnier today.
the fun started the moment ys stepped into the room, 2 and a half hours late. we were already going crazy, with me and sawah trying to be whiny like m2m, singing like men and erm i can't remember what else. anyway, poor ys walked-in on me and sw head-banging and "singing" (shouting, perhaps) to f.i.r's song. we promptly yelled her name into the microphones, causing siew to want to run to the toilet. mw caught hold of her though, and so siew was dragged into the room.
mayhem ensued with ymca! siew was horrified when we all started dancing on cue, and she tried to melt into the chair. too bad for her, she was forced to "dance" the last chorus of ymca with us. haha. and then she had to sit through a shouting session when it's my life came on. hey, we "sang" without mikes ok, and it is a rock song, so.... hehe. the song is now known as our anthem. haha. and the gek (sp) (dunno what it is in english) version of aerosmith's i don't wanna miss a thing. haha. that was fun! other stuff she had to endure was 4 girls vs one wh in phantom of the opera and imitations of bee gees singing various songs. oh yah, and wh's dancing, which was rather entertaining. the session ended off with camera a-flashing and hoarse voices.
ah well mimi and werewolf, too bad you guys weren't around to join-in the fun! haha. miss werewolf's voice for huo yuan jia. we found a good substitute for one night in beijing though! sw made a mean imitation of that chinese slang thingy. haha.
oh wells, 2 years later, we will have a full kendoka 2005 kbox gathering! in the meantime, it'll be just us singing on behalf of werewolf. hehe.
*pictures next time!*
nothing much happened the past few days. my life is kinda boring right now, it revolves around settling administration stuff for sep and packing. not even going out to meet friends anymore, no one seems to be free nowadays. all having school. so, i've been cooped up at home, doing all these things and when i'm not, slacking in front of the comp. wahaha. i thought the rainy weather has stopped, apparently it is back again. so i can't go swimming. :(
i collected my kebaya! it is so pretty! the traditional ones are much much prettier, but also more expensive! uwagh!!! but i like my kebaya. tee-hee. i also learnt how to wear a sarong, the nonya way. ehehe.
sarah and mun wei finally received their pressies from me! hehe. shall upload photos of the handmade pressies i gave out this christmas the next time. i made until i was all cock-eyed. and sarah's was the worst. spent 3 hours on it, by the end i was like @_@. but im very happy with what i made, i think it is lovely. i was telling some friends, if wah wah doesnt like it, im gonna take it back for myself! bwahaha. it was so nice lor.... sob sob. wah wah, u better treasure it with your life! heh.
one thing i realize, i don't really plan what i'm going to make. i just go with the feeling... like, looking at what i have, seeing what matches, then just coming out with a design as i go along. it's like writing for me, i can't plan what i'm going to write, especially if it's like fiction, stories, poems etc. if i do plan, the outcome of whatever i've written never follows the plan. i tend to deviate halfway through, come out with one twist or another so that i don't even know how it'll end. it just ends, like that. ok, i don't know what the hell i'm talking about. haha. i miss those wonderful narrative writing secondary school days. ah, the joy of creating stories.
my 1/4 written story was deleted from my lappy. i suspect my father deleted it. argh. sadness. there goes my story, and i'm too lazy to actually attempt re-writing it again. i mean, re-writes just aren't the same, you know? when i have to re-write a story or a poem or whatever cos i can't find the original, it doesnt come out the same way. it doesnt seem to embody whatever i wanted it to embody at the beginning. so yah. i may not re-write the story at all. not like anyone will read it, hah.
truthfully, i have nothing to write. im just updating for the sake of updating. like, hello! i'm still alive! *waves arms around frantically* in case anyone still reads my blog. if anyone still bothers to check here, that is. my tagboard looks so dead. dead. dead. sigh.
when i go to uk, my new blog addy is http://paperedletters.blogspot.com. is because the url is already working, the blog is there already, i just haven't bothered to change the template yet nor upload any posts. hah.
i need sleep. the first thing i did when i was showering was to put soap on my hair. yah, you go, ym! and it was t3 acne body wash i mistook for shampoo. i didnt realize it until i was washing it off, and then i started wondering why on earth the shampoo didnt feel like shampoo, and then i realized i just mistook soap as shampoo. -_-" signs of sleepiness. ym lack sleep.
yah right. i'm sleeping too much. ym must sleep less, like what her (real) father says. im sleeping too much, it is not good for the health. i should revert back to the 6hrs sleep thingy.
kbox session (prolly) this sat! woot! i cant wait! :) :) :)
met tr, wenhui and yalan for lunch at swensen's today. i wasnt feeling too good, so i had cream of vegetable (which wasnt creamy at all) for lunch, and some of tr's fries. oh, and hot mocha! gah. couldnt stomach anything more.
it was great catching up with yalan n hui! havent seen them for a long time. hehe. hui hui is going off to usa soon! hui hui is so funny. when she realised that im going to send her off, she was like, "but i can't send you off! i cant fly back from us to send you off!" haha. so i replied, " no need to send me off. you welcome me back can already, cos i can't fly back to welcome you back." hehe. but seriously, don't need to send me off, and don't need to welcome me back. heh.
after that, headed off to cineleisure to meet sarah and mich for a movie. watched death note 2. ahh... L.... you know, i realised after the movie, they didnt really explained what happened to the death notebook which was supposed to be with the father, other than L burnt it with the other book in the end. so while kira was still alive, where was that notebook? still with the officers, or burnt? hmmm...
but L's death.... so sad.... a peaceful death is befitting of him though. heh.
well, due to the movie-watching, we didnt get to chat much. hopefully, can still meet up with them again on fri! oh, and thanks for the sandwich! ended up being my dinner, thanks to my non-existent appetite.

right now, i am feeling bloated, slightly nauseous, and lightheaded. haiz. what on earth is wrong with my body, man? i told my parents about my intention to see the doc, and dad scolded me. said i should be sleeping lesser and earlier and drinking more juice. so he said i have to sleep at 12.30am today, and wake up before 9am. like hello, how is that supposed to help me recover? especially since i get interrupted sleep, no thanks to "friendly" neighbours and a noisy bro? honestly.
so, no doc for me. haiz. under surveillance from my mum, since she ain't working till fri. haiz. and i was looking forward to slacking and rotting tomorrow. :(
i am sick. and when im sick, im grumpy. when im grumpy, you better stay away.
i am so fed-up with the sep thing. really. i am really excited and i can't wait to go on sep and all, but hell, the admin part kills. and it kills even more when efficiency comes into the question. nus, for all it's worth, is not efficient. at all. not only that, it throws you at the deep end of the pool and expect you to miraculously pick up swimming.
unfortunately, most of us mere humans do not work like that.
how the hell am i supposed to take leave of absence when the bloody site is not even accessible? and i am leaving in less than 3 weeks, for freaking sake. i don't wish to get a fucking heart attack during my last week in singapore.
module-mapping's a bitch too. i need to get my modules approved, like asap. unfortunately, the department representative ain't helping. like, omg. what the hell is wrong with these people. what the hell is wrong with the administration?
well, for a school which sees itself, and calls itself, a world-class institution, it is a pity then that its efficiency does not reflect this self-entitlement.
first off, a happy 2007 everyone! hope this yr goes much more smoothly for all of you, and healthier and happier! :D

fri : JJ 25th anniversary dinner cum prom! 'twas held at suntec city, convention hall, ballrooms 1,2,3. to think that during my prom, it was at the school field. :( but i must say, my prom had much better, yummier, and special food! why? cos it wasnt the same old boring chinese restaurant-ish food.
bumped into some seniors and some juniors. great seeing all of them and catching up! haha. the band which won the talentime was awesome! can see why they won. the lead singer is really funny though. doing all those cute lil dance steps, hehe. i think she provided the most entertainment that night.
next jj event: jj night, 5th jan! hmm... wondering if i can make it for that. hmm...
oh, and jj's love fiesta is coming back this year too! too bad im not around to attend it, wahaha. still remember the very first one we had... from my batch. well, it is hard not to forget that day, heh.
@@@
sat: met jamie in the late afternoon for a shopping session. supposed to meet earlier, but i think i overdosed on chinese tea during the JJ dinner (what to do, cough mah. cannot drink all the other soft drinks available), and thus, was only able to fall asleep at 7am! woot.
anyway, so we walked around tangs, taka and wisma. i bought an evening dress from arithalia, the same shop where i bought my j2 prom stuff. the shop has some really great clothes! haha. although jamie was commenting that the shop looked like it sold those more matured clothes from the outside, the inside had some hip clothes as well. now jamie is thanking me for introducing the shop to her, esp since the price there is rather affordable! i paid $50 for my dress, where in other places, it could cost a whopping $80 to $100. like jamie said, $50 for a whole lot of cloth (and i mean, a whole lot) is rather worth it! haha.
the rest of the time, jamie was doing the shopping. well, im broke. haha. and then, an impromptu decision was made. we decided to watch a night at the (in the?) museum! headed over to ps (tix at cine was sold out), where we bought tix to the 9.30pm show. jamie wanted to watch it so much, she didnt mind the 2nd row from the front seats. haha. the movie is good though, a refreshing change from the constant stream of romantic comedies coming out of hollywood. this movie is a really must-see!
after that, rushed to catch my bus. the night before, i had to sprint 50m in my heels to catch the last bus. this night, i waited for the last bus, afraid that i had missed it. haha. geez, having to catch the last bus is such a chore. haha.
@@@
sun (yesterday): was dragged out of bed early to go shopping with my parents. went to robinson to find a pair of good walking shoes to bring over to uk. had to take into account that i have to walk on snow. haha. so we went to timberland, but there wasnt any shoe my size. which turned out to be a good thing, cos later, i found a pair of nice, comfy shoes from hush puppies! at a much cheaper price too! hehe. over at og.
other stuff i bought (or my parents bought for me, tee-hee): formal blouse and pants from G2000, winter gloves from OG, lip gloss from robinson. lunch was at the mushroom pot at og. 'twas yummy! and i have fish fillet paper steamboat! yummies! and no, i did not eat fish made of paper!!! this statement is directed at a blur piggie who said i ate fish made of paper.
after that, headed over to ps to meet yongkai, zf and shiou thin. another impromptu session organized by yk. he brought us to eat the famous rocher park tau huay (drool ys, drool. wahaha). it is really yummylicious! can really see and taste the difference in the beancurd. yums! thanks for the treat, yk!
after that, the bo liao people decided to walk to kino, taka. -_-" so we walked there, and i bought a mini sketchbook to make my own diary, cos the ones there either dont have the one that i want, or else it was too ex. :( haha. zf happily used my kino card to buy some magazine. hmmm...
dinner was at ajisen, at which mr yk and mr zf took such a long time to eat, i seriously thought we would spend new yr there. like, seriously. how hard is it to eat two gyozas? even if they do resemble ys.... still.... hehe. after that, mr yk declares a huge need to digest, and so we walked all the way back to ps and beyond. supposed to walk to suntec, but it started raining, and it was going to 10.30pm by then, so i bid them all farewell at raffles city. missed my bus. waited for a freaking half an hour. and there are no seats at the bus stop, so i stood with sore legs for 30 minutes, thinking i will either say happy new year while waiting for the bus, or happy new year in the bus. the bus finally came, and thanks to the small group of us boredies who would rather head home then to stay on in a crowded area after 12, i reached home by 11.40pm. woot. spent my new year showering. wahaha.
the king and the clown is a really beautiful korean movie. so sad.... i love lee jun ki! omg! he is sooooo talented! omg! he had to be a very feminine character, and darn, he was sooooo feminine i feel ashamed. omg! but yah, it is a really great movie.
@@@
today: home till dinner. my parents wanted to bring me out for fine dining before i left for uk, so tonight's dinner will be at lawry's. sucks then, that i am still sick. been sick since last mon. haiz. and today, i have a bad cough, body aches and fever. why hello step 1, all over again. sigh.
when oh when, am i going to recover?
